Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5,6

Such a familiar verse to us, many of us could probably quote it backwards! Not such an easy verse to actually apply to our lives when situations seem so uncertain. It is hard to trust the Lord when the situation seems so dire, and we have so little control of it.

I am amazed at how the Lord has already answered prayers on our behalf, even though I know I am not trusting Him like I should. I would like to share with you some amazing things that He has done.

Monday, December 8, the doctor called and told my mom the results of her CTscan. After she got of the phone with her doctor, she called to make an appointment with the oncologist. She made her appointment for December 22. I was a little panicked when she told me her appointment was so far away, I wanted to get into the oncologist that day, not two weeks later. Anyway, I called some of my friends, and asked them to pray that mom could get into the oncologist sooner, hopefully within the week. Through circumstances only orchestrated by the Lord (with the help of Michelle), mom got into the oncologist the next day! I would have never asked the Lord to get her into the the Dr. the next day, probably b/c I didn't believe He would answer that prayer. How faitheful He is, even when we have such little faith. Not only did mom get into the oncologist on Tuesday, she was able to get her biospy on Thursday, and the doctor called her on Saturday evening with the results. In the conversation with the doctor, he explained how serious this was, and he scheduled surgery for January 7. I know you will all be shocked to know that January 7th seemed very far away! I couldn't believe the doctor would wait that long to get this out of her. Well, again God was taking care of things for me, and the doctors office called mom Monday morning, and moved the surgery up to December 29th!

We do serve an awesome God. Please continue to pray for us as we continue on our journey.

  1. Thought of all of you this morning in my Bible reading.
    "Though He causes grief, yet He will show compassion according to the multitude of His mercies." Lamentations 3:32
    What a thought---to consider the multitude of His mercies and know that they are all available to you for comfort.
    All of you are in my prayers every day. I believe that God is able to heal, able to restore, and that He is going to bring much good out of this trial.
